Postcard gets stamp of approval

"We agree that the sale of Royal Mail will undoubtedly bring higher prices alongside reduced services. Royal Mail has modernised and continues to work with the union to improve service to the public and can continue to be viable in public ownership."

Billy Hayes, CWU general secretary

Ian Stewart, Salford City Mayor, has signed the postcard from the Communication Workers Union (CWU) sending a message to the Tory led government that selling off our post office is not an option.

The postcard which carries the message “Save our Royal Mail. You own it, don’t buy it” has been signed by regional council leaders including Lancashire, Blackburn, Burnley, Rossendale, Tameside and now Salford.
