One million people set to lose their vote

Changes in the voter registration system mean around one million people will be taken off the electoral register this year.

Make sure you are not one of them.

Don't lose you chance to decide on Britains future in Europe and make sure you can cast your vote for the Salford City Mayor and who your councillors will be.

The way you register to vote has now changed. Each individual must now register themselves, but don't worry it's dead easy.

Go online to gov.uk/register-to-vote

Fill in your name, address, date of birth and a few other details. You will need your National Insurance number. This can be found on your National Insurance Card, or in official paperwork such as payslips, or letters about benefits or tax credits.

To vote in next years elections you must be registered by 30th November 2015.

If you are a citizen from the European union you can vote in local elections here, so make sure you are registered.

If you are a Commonwealth citizen you can vote in all elections here, so make sure you are registered.
